Thanksselling Holiday

Just heard the big news that various retailers can’t wait till Black Friday and are going to open their stores on Thanksgiving Day. So much for pausing and being thankful for our blessings. While the retailers will tell us this is something “customers have asked for,” I doubt that employees did. For the stores to be open, employees are going to have to depart their Thanksgiving festivities early and head to work.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not going to spend more or buy more stuff this holiday season just because I have one more partial shopping day.  Certainly, I’m not going to be at Target or Walmart with my stomach stuffed with stuffing and pumpkin pie.

Feel the same way?  I signed the “Target: Take the high road and save Thanksgiving” petition at change.org.  You might do the same.

Also, when you do get into shopping mode, consider participating in Small Business Saturday!
